Figma News Fridays: 11/20/15

Welcome to an on time Figma News Fridays! We have release dates and a few preorders, so let’s get started!

Monday

In spite of how exciting this news was, I forgot it in my catch-up post, so let’s start this week out right!

Meiko Announced
meiko announcement
Origin: Vocaloid
This announcement has taken years to get to us. Miku, then Len and Rin, and eventually Luka were first to receive the figma treatment. Then, after much fan effort, Kaito came. Meanwhile, Gakupo, Gumi, and Meiko received nendoroids with no signs of the same on the figma front. It’s not that I really wanted Meiko anyway(not being tsundere here), but I had honestly assumed that we’d never get a figma of her. Then her announcement came out of the blue! I hope that Meiko’s accessories are somewhat exciting since the nendoroids tend to get better accessories.

Yami Yugi Preorders Begin
yugi tuesday
From the popular anime series ‘Yu-Gi-Oh!’ comes a figma of Yugi Muto’s alternate personality, Yami Yugi!

Using the smooth yet posable joints of figma, you can act out a variety of different scenes.
A flexible plastic is used for important areas, allowing proportions to be kept without compromising posability.
The Millennium Puzzle as well as the Duel Disk that attaches to his left arm are both included.
A removable cape, a hand of cards as well as a single card to hold are also all included.
He comes with both a fearless smile as well as a glaring expression.
The direction Yami is looking can be changed to suit his pose with one of three different eye parts.
An articulated figma stand is included, which allows various poses to be taken.
Yami retails for 6000 yen and is scheduled for a June 2016 release.

As far as figures go, we’re already half way through 2016! I already have 4 scales on preorder T-T.

Yami is yet another I never dreamed would get a figma, but here we are! We’ve got Sailor Moon figures, Cardcaptor Sakura, Pokemon, Digimon, and Yu-gi-oh…what year is it?!
Yami has all of the appropriate accessories: the Millennium Puzzle, cards, a DUEL DISK SYSTEM (trademark), his hair, and LEATHER PANTS. Sadly these things do not make up for a general lack of facial expression. A yelling face would have been nice, but to make up for it, he does have movable eyes! I’ve still yet to get a figma with that feature…

I’ll be passing on Yami, but am excited about him regardless!
I wonder when we’ll see more of the Dark Magician Girl figma!

This product is available for preorder at the GOODSMILE ONLINE SHOP.
Preorders will be open from 19th November 2016 (Sat) from 12:00JST until 16th December 2015 (Wed) at 21:00JST.

I don’t really have much to say about Miho. She’s another version of a figma we already got, and I’m sure her fans are excited, but otherwise she’s a very standard figma. The teddy bear is very cute though, and I wonder if that preorder bonus accessory is too good…

That wraps up this week! Is there a King of Card Games in your future?
