Bubble Head Nurse Preorders Begin
bubble head nurse preorder page
From the highly acclaimed horror game ‘SILENT HILL 2’ comes a figma of the Bubble Head Nurse – the sinister monster with an oddly sensual charm!

Using the smooth yet posable joints of figma, you can act out a variety of different scenes.
A flexible plastic is used for important areas, allowing proportions to be kept without compromising posability.
She comes with both the knife and metal pipe as weapons, as well as alternate head parts.
An articulated figma stand is included, allowing various poses to be taken.
Be sure to display her with the previously released figma Red Pyramid Thing to bring out the atmosphere of Silent Hill even more!
Bubble Head Nurse retails for 4259 yen and is scheduled for an October release.

Finally! How long ago was she announced? Bubble Head Nurse makes up for her long stay in figma limbo by looking pretty darn awesome. She looks really nasty, but still has a nice body which I am certain was the intention. Paint work is detailed(dem veins), and she doesn’t look over textured like Pyramid did in the promo shots. Maybe accessories are lacking, but the figure is already cool looking.
My only complaint is one of those eye rolling nitpicks that those hardcore reviewers make, and nobody else cares about. Her joint integration is a little rough. Newer figmas have had joints that blend very well, but not so much on Nurse.
Bubble Head Nurse will be a pass for me, but she looks good!

The Pyramid Head’s symbolic ‘Great Knife’ and ‘Spear’ are both included along with a number of hand parts.
An articulated figma stand is included, allowing various poses to be taken.
Red Pyramid Thing retails for 4444 yen and is scheduled for October.

From ‘Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works]’ comes a new figma 2.0 of Rin Tohsaka, following on from the release of Saber.

Using the smooth yet posable joints of figma, you can act out a variety of different scenes.
Certain joints use drawer-type articulation allowing for much more exciting action poses.
She comes with a standard smiling face, a shouting face for combat as well as an embarrassed expression.
Optional parts include parts to display her in slippers, alternate arm parts showing her magus sigil and alternate hair parts to display her wearing her glasses.
Effect parts for the Gandr spell are also included!
An articulated figma stand is included, which allows various poses to be taken.
Rin retails for 5370 yen and is scheduled for release in September.

A very much needed figma update for Rin Tohsaka! Like Saber, Rin was an early figma clocking in a #11. But unlike Saber, there was only one version of her made. Saber and Shiro were always on my list, but I could never convince myself to buy Rin because her sculpt bothered me(it still does). This new Rin has her school uniform instead of casual outfit and looks much much better. The faces also tap more into Rin’s tsundere side. Accessories are a little lacking or perhaps limited, but I do like the glasses even if she isn’t as cute wearing them as the nendoroid. You all know what I’ve been saying about GSC’s bonuses, and I was sure that Rin would finally be the figure to make me buy from GSC, but when I looked at the price I’d be paying in addition to shipping, I just couldn’t do it.
Still, Rin was a get for me! Just without that extra face.

Sakura Kinomoto Delayed

Delayed to June.
Not good or bad for me. Every month is bad for me this year.

That’s all for this week!

  1. Never truly care much about KanColle except Fubuki, which is not yet announced as Figma yet (?), despite being the supposed Hero of the KanColle universe.
But on the other hand, I definitely wouldn’t miss Rin this time! the only bad thing about Rin is, again- no glorious redcoat…

  2. Kitakami is looking pretty decent there! I suppose. She was one of approximately five characters in the KanColle anime that I didn’t hate…and I already have or have ordered figmas of 3 of the others, so I think I may get her. Just to complete that “girls that didn’t suck” set. On the other hand, I really only liked her for her dynamic with her friend Ooi, who…hasn’t been announced as a figma yet. And who I liked way more anyway. Getting one without the other strikes me as nigh blasphemous (the Nendoroid line released both of them at the same time, which I think was pretty sensible). So. I don’t know, hopefully Ooi is announced in the next Wonfes, or something.

In the meantime, I suppose Kitakami’s price and her faces will be the deciding factors. Since Yukikaze was just announced, hopefully that means Kitakami is not too far behind. I will preemptively dread what will surely be a 6000+ yen pricetag, though…
