Figma News Fridays: 10/24/14

Welcome to another week of figma news! This time, there isn’t much in terms of volume, but the significance of the items makes up for it since we have some popular series represented! There are two delays and a preorder. So let’s get started!

Monday

Ninja Slayer Delayed

Last month Ninja Slayer was delayed, and here he is again. You can now expect him in November. Wasshoi…

Wednesday

Racing Miku 2013 EV MIRAI ver. Delayed

Last week her bike was delayed, and now Miku herself follows. This is not unexpected, but it catapults my November into “Why can’t I control myself oh my gosh what have I done this could have been avoided” territory. I now have Racing Miku, Cleaning Levi, Saber 2.0, and Alter’s Natsumevalong with some goodies in one month. I can rely on Alter for a delay…right?

Friday

Mutsu Preorders Begin

From the popular browser game ‘Kantai Collection -KanColle-‘ comes a figma of the second Nagato-class battleship, Mutsu!

Using the smooth yet posable joints of figma, you can act out a variety of different scenes.
A flexible plastic is used for important areas, allowing proportions to be kept without compromising posability.
She comes with three expressions including her standard face, a smile with upturned eyes and a cute blow kiss expression!
The ship parts at her hips are also articulated, and she comes with an alternate lower leg part to fix the anchor to her leg!
An articulated figma stand is included.
Mutsu retails for 6296 yen and will be released May 2015.

Mutsu PO bonus
Preorders of figma Mutsu from the GOOD SMILE ONLINE SHOP will include a ‘Smoke Effect (Heart)’ as a bonus!
GSC shop orders can be placed between the 24th October 2014 (Fri) from 12:00JST and the 19th November 2014 (Wed) at 21:00JST

The year hasn’t even ended, and figmas are already scheduled for May of next year. My last preorders are in November too. Am I safe for six months?

When Mutsu and Nagato were announced, I was skeptical because the art looked odd. However, Mutsu made a great transition to 3D, and I like her style far more than anticipated. She also brings some welcome maturity to the Kan Colle line of figures. Those lolis with ripped clothing get creepy after a while.
Overall, Mutsu is solid, and whether or not she is for you depends on your opinion of Kan Colle or her character.
I also have to add that her kissing face is refreshingly unique, and the preorder bonus is surprisingly awesome. I’m a little sad that it is not included with the regular release as it adds some needed personality to the figure.
There is also the price which continues to climb. *shudder*
As with every Kan Colle figure, Mutsu is a pass for me, but definitely not a bad figure.

That closes this week! Are you reeling or rejoicing because of any delays? What do you think about Mutsu?

  1. Question…. what is GoodSmile’s official site? The one I’ve ordered from only had new stuff once a year and never update their catalog.

  2. What the. We hadn’t even seen the sculpt of Nagato yet and now she’s already up for preorders…dang.

I’m sure I’ll be ordering her eventually, as with most KanColle figmas, but for once I’m gonna hold off a bit on the preordering. Her price is pretty dang high. (by which i mean, exactly Nagato’s) She looks great though. I much prefer her to Nagato, honestly. Sure wish she’d come first.

Bit of a shame that the smoke heart effect part is exclusive, since there’s no way whatsoever I’m going to buy her from GSC. And at that price I’m sure they could have included it. Still, good enough figure.

    • Yeah, that price is crazy. And even though that effect part is awesome, once you add in GSC’s not having a discount and mandatory EMS, it becomes one expensive part. At least the yen isn’t so high right now.

Gosh I forgot that Nagato was already up for order.
